After making the 3 hour trek into Edmonton, Caitlin made sitting for a full day- and I mean a FULL DAY- on her arm look easy! Tough!

Logo's and Typeface for the new shop are done, thanks to my friend Peter.  Business cards and stickers are off to the printers... Lots of tattooing.  Alberta themed leg is getting close to done.

3.9.14

So here's our big news post.  Since we were already 1/2 way there, we decided to go look at a studio to rent in person, which meant a trip to Nelson!
After a long drive, it was time for EL TACO.  I predict there will be a lot of El Taco in the not too distant future...
The next morning we were up bright and early to check out the space for rent.... and it was absolutely PERFECT!  Exactly what we were looking for, it's small, great location, clean, tons of natural light... We could not be any happier with the space!

Our new landlords are great and we were beyond excited to sign the lease and make it a done deal.
Lake/downtown views from the front stoop.
So, beyond excited to announce that we have secured a location and have set a tentative opening date of June 1st 2014.  VERY excited to move to Nelson, and VERY excited to be opening a new studio with my amazing wife!  VERY excited to announce-

Coming soon...

3.7.14

So this year my annual birthday get-a-way was super awesome and rewarding.  Teagan and I were both beyond exhausted from cleaning and sorting and packing and getting our house ready to sell.  Mission accomplished
After a short drive to the Rockies, we were back at our favorite cabin in the middle of no where.  For the next two days we sat around and did a lot of this
... I personally fell asleep on the couch several times though out the day in front of the fire looking out the window at our view.  Looks amazing but it was actually -33 with the wind chill....
... great for keeping wine cold though.
Birthday breakfast
and and birthday dinner with the best wife ever.
The next morning we decided to not go home, but instead head down to go look at and potentially secure our studio in Nelson, BC.  Again, love this cabin!
... Nelson pictures tomorrow...

2.27.14

So I've had to put the blog... and painting... and pretty much everything else aside most all of last week as we stayed up until 3am most nights cleaning, packing, and getting ready to "stage" our house for sale this week.  Tons of work...

The ladies cleaning and dusting the den
Lots of trips to the Eco Station...  this one was a sad trip... I bought this stereo receiver when I was 15 years old with money I made cutting grass for show homes one summer.  It was my first "real" job.  I'm 34 in a few days, and it died a few weeks ago.  Rest well good friend, we've had a lot of good times together.
... this however was a happy trip.  I hate this mattress, by back hates this mattress, and Teagan hates this mattress even more than I do.   Good riddance.
Now for a few days to decompress on our annual March trip to the cabin in the mountains... But how about a tattoo before we go?  I've got a camera full of photos from last week that need editing, but for now I'm posting my friend Nik's tattoo.

I've known Nik since I was 13 years old, and it's always fun getting to tattoo old friends and catching up.  However, it's always a special honor when any client wants to get a tattoo for their best friend.  My cats are my best friends in the entire world,  I have my cats tattooed on my feet, I fully understand the bond between an animal and a human, so again, it was absolutely my pleasure to get to tattoo Mickey on Nik's arm last week.
