8.27.11

Finished up the frog and most of the background on Rodney's chest today.  We'll connect it to his sleeves next session.
And this afternoon I touched up the cover up on Tracey's peony's and added this little lady bug.  Fun stuff!

8.26.11

Finished Kalika's flowers and hummingbirds today.  Pretty damn awesome.   She sits like a champ and today was no exception.  By coming in regularly and doing longer sittings, we got this done in no time, perfect client!  I should have healed photos of the whole thing in about a month.

Outlined Brian's second sleeve today.  It went pretty damn well if I do say so myself, and the cover up should work out nicely.

8.22.11

I watch a lot of Vice TV on my days off. I don't know why the stupid play button doesn't disappear when the video starts playing... just hit the full screen and it moves to the top corner and isn't in the middle of the video.

8.21.11

Worked on Jon's tall ship today, but the photos didn't turn out so well...   Good thing I have an extra photo from a few days ago I can post tonight.   Lined and shaded the inside of Morgan's arm Friday.

8.20.11

Put a few more hours into Blake's underwater sleeve today.  When I outlined the tattoo,  I had left an empty space that still needed to be filled. This eel seemed to fit nicely.

8.19.11

I'm posting this video tonight because it's way more important than what I had originally planned on posting.  If you have a few minutes, it's worth the watch.

I met Julian maybe 6-7 years ago, when I was traveling out to Ottawa to get tattooed by another artist.  At the time,  he was just learning to tattoo.  Meeting Julian had such a huge impact on my life and my life as an artist, and I'm sure he has absolutely no idea.

8.18.11

Amy flew in from Vancouver for the day to get tattooed.... literally the day.  She flew in at 9:30am and was on her way back to the airport by 6pm with a half sleeve.  I am always extremely grateful when someone flies out to get tattooed.  I travel to get tattooed, so I know the commitment involved.   Thanks a bunch Amy!  I can't wait to work on it again.  Super happy with the entire tattoo.  It's no secret, the more time, effort, and energy you put into something, the happier you are with the end results.  Staying up until 3am last night working on the colour study was totally worth it.

8.14.11

Our house is unbelievably hot right now... and I don't feel like sitting in front of this computer.  I worked on Marcie's back today.  It's nice that there is now more colour then blank spaces left to colour on her back.  We're aproching the home stretch!

8.13.11

My morning appointment canceled today... there's been a lot of that going on lately...

Charlotte was my afternoon appointment and we finished up most of the colour on the bottom half of her peacock with roses.  Still a few small things to do before we can call that area done.

8.12.11

Well... I'm in a fairly crappy mood today.  My eye infection is back in full force and has taken over my left eye... again....  It was gone for a good 6-8 months... and now it's back...

...and now the awesome video I wanted to post won't load properly... here's my back up video for tonight-

8.11.11

Outlined this tall ship and anchor on Robyn today.  It was originally going to go on her lower leg, but she threw a bit of a curve ball this afternoon right before I put on the stencil and switched it up to her thigh.  Way better in my opinion.  It always makes WAY more sense to have the sun/sky at the top of the leg.  Now her options are way more open for adding on in the future.  Good choice Robyn!

8.10.11

I've shipped out the first bunch or shirts and goodies to all those who have ordered.  Thank you so much!  I need to get individual bungie cords so my bike can take more than 3 boxes at a time to the post office....
Tattooed this quickly this morning on my good friend Justin.  Sometimes the small funny tattoos are the ones I enjoy doing the most...

8.9.11

New shirts are now up and available in the web store.   They're printed on Silver American Apparel T-Shirts, which in my opinion are really nice shirts.

As with most merch I make, there's a bit of a homage to skateboarding.  I grew up skateboarding in the late 80's/ early 90's and pretty much every shirt had this layout at that time.  Small logo on the front, big graphic on the back.  I'm extremely happy with them.

Because the shirts themselves were a bit more expensive, and the back graphic is a 4 colour print, I didn't order as many as I normally do when printing shirts.  So if you want one, act fast.

8.7.11

This week was almost a complete write off as far as I'm concerned... So many cancellations/ no shows.  Murphy's Law in full effect,  whenever your about to make a large purchase... the week prior will always be full of people not making their appointments.  Oh well...

The few tattoos I did do were really fun, and today was no exception.  Coloured Cara's flowers for a couple hours today to end my "work week".  Red pansy on the elbow was fun for me, probably not so much for Cara.

8.6.11

After waking up my 11:00am apt at 11:30am to confirm that she had slept through her appointment.... Tracey was awesome and came in early so the day wasn't entirely wasted.  Not only did she come in early, but sat through all of the colour on a large tattoo in some pretty crappy spots.  What a champ!

8.4.11

Spencer was in town from Vancouver and today we finally finished up his 1/2 sleeve.  He was saying it's been about 2-3 years in the works... I'd say more like 3-4 realistically.... For some reason I think we actually started it out in Vancouver, which would make it more then 4 years... but I could be wrong.

8.2.11

I finally got around to making some new business cards today... well... more like appointment cards.  I've decided to get 2 types of cards printed, one a bit fancier for potential clients, and one really simple for existing client's appointments.  I made and ordered the simple ones today.
I also made new headers for the website.  Not super exciting, but I think it looks better than the old photos that were there.  If you want to see them, just check the website

I have found that to view the new additions, I've had to clear the caché in my web browser.

8.1.11

Just finished a HUGE update to the "Tattoo" section on my website.  I've uploaded more than a few new photos, which will also be in a new printed portfolio at the studio. Hopefully that will be here with in a a few weeks...

For now I've just left all of the old stuff that was in the Tattoo gallery.  I'll probably go back over the next few days and remove a few here and there so that the gallery isn't so big.  I've also closed the "Projects" section for now, but will have it back up with new ideas this week.  Check it out!
