This is amazing, from Amalie's blog
I can't remember where I first saw this, but "Sum: Forty Tales from the Afterlives" by David Eagleman is a great book.
This is and always will be my favorite song, ever.

The last week or so has been nice and busy. Ollie's been in town working with us and will be here for about another week or so.
I've also had a bunch of appointments the last week or so that I've been able to finish or do final touch ups on projects. Now I just need to transfer the files for my website off the laptop and onto the desktop computer so I can update the website....
Here's photos from the last few weeks-
Monday July 5th- First appointment was touching up and taking photos of Josh's grain elevators.
Second appointment we worked on the bottom of Tyler's Lancaster, and started the background. If you've followed the last month or so, you'll know he's making short work of this project. Maybe one or two more sittings and we'll be done. Saturday July 10- My friend Jon has been really great about letting me touch up and fix old tattoos we've done on him over 6-7 years ago. I owed him a fresh tattoo for being so patient, so I'm really happy to have tattooed this owl sitting on a stack of books for him. Super fun to tattoo. Sunday July 11- I worked on Chris' Moai leg. I forgot my camera that day, but his girlfriend Sarah was there so I'm stealing this awesome photo from her blog.Thursday July 15- Finished Mike's sleeve. We coloured the back half of one of the roses, the skull under his elbow, and his hand. Our total from outline to completion- 6 sessions, we started Friday June 11th and finished Thursday July 15th, one month and 4 days. Awesome.Friday July 16- Started the first colour session on Eric's frangipanis. One more and this tattoo will be done.Sunday July 18- I tattooed this awesome little snake and hourglass on the back of Trent's arm......and then touched up Trish's maple leaves. Awesome that in a month, I should have healed photos of both of these tattoos.

Well... here's 1/2 of what I promised yesterday.... Photos from our almost 2 days in Penticton. I did tattoo today and I do have photos, however, those are on my memory card, and I don't feel like editing them tonight. The Penticton photos are already on our hard drive, so here we go-
First stop Sunday night upon arrival, beer at the Kettle Valley Station PubGood food, great beer.
You will however notice that we are drinking pints of beer. I must express my extreme displeasure with the fact that our waitress FAILED to inform us that the 2.5 L tower of beer was $5 off on Sundays. That make it $20 for 2.5L of beer.... so if you go to the Kettle Valley Station Pub on Sunday with $80, that will buy you 10L of beer. wow...
We usually stay at the Best Western...mainly for the free continental breakfast... featuring make-your-own-waffles.
Teagan decided to hit up the kids slide after waffles...
Then it's off to replenish our wine supply. First stop, our favorite- Dirty Laundry Vineyards.
That's not a full case of wine Teagan's carrying.... yet.... but it will be by the end of the day...
Second, my favorite place for red wine- Blasted Church Vineyards. That IS a full case of Cab Merlot.
Lunch beer.
More lunch beer.
Followed by ice cream on Skaha Lake.
Then off to Salty's Beach House for dinner....
...and more beer...
Then a walk along Lake Okanagan, with a mandatory stop for photos at the giant peach.
I don't know why, but my FAVORITE graffiti is always "weed" related graffiti. Makes me laugh every time, and you can pretty much find it ANYWHERE if you're looking. I'll make a post one day of all the "weed" related graffiti I've collected on my iPhone... 4:20 man...
I have a special place 1/2 way between Penticton and OK falls that I love to watch the sunset. iPhones really don't do a good job capturing how epic sunsets can be.
Oh the Valley Star... I love this sign and felt that it needed to be documented, as one day it will probably be gone... replaced by some crappy new ultra modern condo.... They don't make signs like this one anymore...
Tattoo photos tomorrow...

Well... today should have been my first day back at the studio after having a mini vacation last week. My client sent me a text message last night at 7:30pm to confirm her appointment was today at 11am, and then decided to sleep through her alarm and miss her appointment. Awesome. So no tattoo photos today because there was no tattooing today....
Instead here's the first 1/2 of photos from our mini vacation. Teagan's brother was getting married so we made the trip out to Vancouver and decided to take a few extra day to drive home via Penticton.
Teagan flew out early to visit and decorate cupcakes for the wedding. I drove down by myself a few days later.
I used to drive to Vancouver all the time, but as fast as possible, and in the middle of the night to avoid traffic. Now when I do the drive, I take my time, and travel during daylight hours as much as possible. Sure it adds a few hours to the trip, but what an amazing drive.Steve, I took this photo for you-Teagan getting ready for her brother's wedding......setting up her cupcake tree......and blowing bubbles in the wind.Teagan and JoshAfter the wedding we headed to the Beatty compound (Kathy's parent's acreage) for dinner and many, many plastic red glasses full of Grandville Island Lager from the keg. I don't have many photos because it was starting to get dark and only had an iPhone for a camera. I was also fairly intoxicated by this point....
There was a HUGE cooler full of fresh oysters, fresh from Cortes Island. They started by being cooked over and open fire, and then all of a sudden it quickly became quite the event to just slam them back raw. I've never seen anything quite like it. Teagan and Josh were herding people to the table as if they were lining up shots at a bar- "Who's going to do one?" "You in or what?" "Let's do this" etc.Brother and sister, slamming oysters
As you can probably see, I really do enjoy the randomness of the Toy Camera app for iPhone.
Sunday morning we packed up and headed out to Penticton for the day to relax and replenish our wine supply.... Pics of that tomorrow...

I've worked a whole bunch over the last week, mainly to make up for the few days I'll be out of town coming up
Here's a recap-
Wednesday the 16th of June I worked on Matt's chest. He was having a good day and finished up all the colour. My second apt that day was to add a tree frog to Vanessa's 3/4 Sleeve-
Thursday the 17th I worked on Mikes sleeve. We coloured the inside and back of his upper arm. This was his third sitting-
Friday the 18th, yes indeed.... Mike again. We coloured clouds, and his elbow....As well as one of th roses on his forearm
Second appointment that day, I coloured a bit of background on Olga's bird sleeve. Inside of her arm... I don't think she liked me much that day...
Saturday the 19th, I did a small David Choe whale on Noel's leg-
... and then had the rest of the day off. It was beautiful outside that day, so I really didn't mind
Sunday the 20th, I tattooed the whole day, but didn't get good pictures... oh well...
Monday the 21st, worked on Darryl's sleeve. Again, no photos.
The afternoon, I worked on Tylers Lancaster a bit more. It's insane how fast he's getting this done considering the placement of the tattoo-Tuesday the 22nd I had the day off. I took the car in to get tuned up and cleaned for the upcoming road trip.
And finally today, Wednesday the 23rd.... Again... Mike. We coloured his ditch and another forearm rose. If anyone's keeping track, Mike started his sleeve Thursday the 10th, that's 12 days ago. That's 5 sittings in 12 days. Crazy.... Unfortunately we're both out of town next week, so we'll finish it up the second week of July. Amazing.
