Dec 5

It's fun to make stuff, and I'm remembering that's the whole point.  Lately, I've really tried to embrace what got me into tattooing 25+ years ago, and so much of that was this DIY spirit that I had.  I just loved making thing myself, and still do, and building Timber Tattoo v2.0 has really reminded me how much fun and personally satisfying it is to sit make something, or learn how to make something.  It takes a while... usually double the time I think it will...  but when the thing is done, it's one of the best feelings.

So..... The last few weeks, I remade the website!  It's live now, and I'm really happy with how it turned out!  It has a bunch of new photos that aren't on any social media yet, and a really simple form to fill out if you're looking to book an appointment/get tattooed!  Just click the link below!!!

Not tattoo related, but also super fun DIY project- we made candles this week by candle dipping!  Super fun, and now we have a buch of candles for the winter nights!

Nov 25 2025

Welcome back!

It’s been a while! As much as I wished I hadn’t stopped using this blog, it seems like a great time to start it back up.  A lot has happened, but most importantly at this time- I have a new location for The Timber Tattoo Company!

I’m going to take some nice photos tomorrow, but for now here’s a quick video showing the space, and location towards the end of the video.  It’s a small space, but I’ve worked hard to make it as comfortable and welcoming as possible to all clients!

For now I’ll be working by appointment only!  Shoot me an email if you’d like to book an appointment or stop by and check out the new studio!

Sept 10

Sarah made the drive out from Edmonton for a few days to get a MASSIVE part of her back piece completed.  We've been working on it for a few years now, and it's always extremely rewarding to complete a large chunk of a big tattoo.  Probably one more session to go!  The eggs/ leaves were drawn on today to cover up an old, dark butterfly.

Sept 9

Teagan's parent's are in town for a few days and her dad wanted to get tattooed.  He had picked something out of one of the Sailor Jerry books but changed his mind and the last second and went with an eagle off of flash I painted a few years ago.  Super fun!

Sept 8

Found this guy at the shop the other day while cleaning up.  No date on it but probably early 90's.  It was a key chain.  I had a Kemper snowboard as well that I wish I still had... Custom grip tape by yours truly

Sept 7

Went for a walk yesterday which quickly turned into a mushroom hunt!  Finding fun mushrooms in the forest only adds to my love of autumn.  Thank you mother nature!

Sept 6

It happens often on Sundays, as I'm driving home, down the windy roads, through the forests that sprawl up and down the mountain, side that I realize... I live here. This is now my home and there's no where else I'd rather be.

Last night of drawing for clients before my weekend.  Roughed out a sketch for a drawing viewing tomorrow, cleaned up a sketch and made a line copy for a tattoo tomorrow, and a small one for fun

Sept 4

More late night drawing tonight for up coming appointments.

Sept 3

... tattooed that fun horse I worked on until late last night today... but forgot my phone and since these days phone=camera... it's always a good reminder that 1) I'm too attached to a phone 2) not much really happens on the internet in 8 hrs that needs to be seen instantly.

It's 8°C outside the last few nights.  The air is crisp.  It's amazing.

Sept 1

I started this blog a long time ago.   It didn't get much use at first... Then in 2011, I decided to use blogger as a form of motivation, by posting once a day.  I also remember clearly at that time that I titled my blog "Welcome to the Log Cabin."  I was living in Edmonton, but starting to spend more and more of my free time in the mountains.  I wanted to challenge myself to post daily in the hopes it would motivate me to draw more, paint more, share more art, and to share the time we spend outdoors...  it may sound dramatic, but in 2011, I dreamed of living in a small mountain town, but did not in any way think that it could ever be a reality....

Today is Sept 1st and the smell of autumn is finally in the air.  Temperatures are starting to slowly drop and the nights are becoming cool and crisp.  It's my favorite time of year, and it dawned on me the other day that I'm not exactly sure how it all happened... but I'm almost exactly where I wanted to be 4 years ago....

...I'm working on drawing new flash for the shop on a crisp autumn night, in an small town in the mountains, living in a cabin in the woods over looking the mountains and lake....

Welcome back to the log cabin everyone.  Thanks for stopping by!

To Tight Lines and Full Creels.

Sometimes the smaller tattoos are the most fun. Thanks, Rogan! Super rad idea, super fun hanging out with you!

Long stemmed rats/Long tailed roses
